My husband has small cell lung cancer. He just had a scan and the only place it showed up was the adrenal gland. Is surgery ever an option for this?

Thank you very much for contacting us with your concerns regarding your husband’s disease.
The treatment of small cell lung cancer is usually chemotherapy and I am assuming your husband has already received that. I do not have all the information we need to make a definitive opinion. While the treatment is usually chemotherapy, there have been reports about patients like your husband undergoing a removal of their adrenal gland. Making a decision will depend on the image review and the timeline of the treatment.
Sorry again to hear about your diagnosis and I hope this helped.
In case you are interested to know more, I would suggest to proceed with a comprehensive review of the case with a top lung oncologist by requesting a consultation from Cancerdocs.
Have a blessed day
Sincerely yours
CancerDocs
