I have had breast cancer and have just been diagnosed with a growth in my liver. This is probably cancer but I am due for biopsy next Monday. The NHS trust I am under seems to only offer Chemotherapy. I am interested in Microwave treatment – but I now that treatment will be further delayed if I question the chemotherapy option. I will not even see the oncologist until 18th April. I want to find out where alternative treatment is available and make enquiries.

Thank you very much for contacting us with your concerns regarding your recent diagnosis of breast cancer. My heart goes to you as it must have been a very tough time on you.
Let me preface to you that I am a big believer in offering hope and making decisions that are medically sound and financially reasonable. However, I also caution against hype and unproven treatment options, so do not believe everything you read on the internet.
Regarding your diagnosis, I do not have all the information we need to provide a better assessment, but you seem to indicate that you have only one site of metastasis in the liver. If this is proven by biopsy, it would be unusual because only 5% of patients have only one liver metastasis. If this holds true, your case could be discussed to attempt resecting that liver lesion or treat it with radiation (either radio frequency ablation or stereotactic body radiation therapy) rather than just treating you with chemotherapy.
Sorry again to hear about your diagnosis and have a blessed day
Should you need more information and further consultation, let us know and you can have a top breast cancer doctor from the Cancerdocs Network review your case.
Sincerely yours
CancerDocs
